Why?

Dear God, it has started already! At just 23 months, this child of mine has started asking why. Insessently and in a super sweet voice. I don’t really even think he knows what it means. I think he picked it up from a book or song, I’m not sure.

If I answer the why then he just says why again. I have started trying something else.

Me: I need to get the pizza in the oven.
Wallace: Why?
Me: Don’t you want to eat pizza?
Wallace: Yeh.

End of discussion.

Sometimes if I answer one why, that I couldn’t figure out how to respond with a question, he will ask it again and I just won’t respond. Not my favorite thing to do but he doesn’t get upset and the repetitive whys won’t become a habit.

I’m hoping this keeps working.
